Geist, who is the CEO and President of Seaport Machine Incorporated of Clarkston, was the general manager for ten years before being promoted. He said if elected, he'd like to keep the PUD debt free and work to keep water rates as low as possible for the customers in Asotin County.
"The PUD runs well," said Geist. "It's a government organization that is mostly debt free. They operate out of their funds rather than borrowing money. I believe in that. So I wanted to be a part of something I believed in."
Geist said he's been a resident in Asotin County for all of his life and has watched the PUD develop and grow. He believes he can bring a fresh perspective to the table, that his opponent Nuxoll can't
