It's official: Dino Rossi sworn in as temp state senator
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Dino Rossi is back in political office. This time he didn't need to run a campaign.
Rossi was sworn in to office on Tuesday after the Metropolitan King County Council chose him to serve out the remainder of former Sen. Cheryl Pflug's term. He says he will work as a caretaker for the seat, working with constituents who are having troubles navigating state government.
He is not running to hold the seat permanently and plans to continue his job working for a real estate company.
Rossi served in the state Senate for several years before running for governor in 2004 and 2008. He also ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in 2010.
Pflug left the seat to take a job on the Washington Growth Management Hearings Board.
