Michaela McFarland's dedication to school is her #1 top priority

LEWISTON, ID - KLEW cares about you and that's why each week during the school year, we team up with Lewiston Orthopaedic Associates to highlight an outstanding local high school student.

Reporter Sophia Miraglio introduces you to Lewiston High School senior Michaela McFarland.

This Lewiston High School Bengal is a member of National Honor Society, has a 3.5 GPA, and is bilingual.

That's right, her name is Michaela McFarland, senior at Lewiston High School and this week's "Academic All-Star."

"School is my number one priority," said McFarland. "So I go straight from school to work, but I get off at six and then when I come home I make sure that all my homework's done and I put that first ."

And it's that dedication that will take her far after high school.

"I want to go to LC in the fall and I want to study elementary education," said McFarland.

So where does she see herself in five years? Well, the sky's the limit.

"I hope that I am getting ready to start teaching and be settled down somewhere in the Portland area," said McFarland.

Congratulations Michaela. You're this week's 'Academic All-Star.'
