“Academic All-Star” Andrew Thompson plans a future in the medical field

KLEW News cares about you, and that’s why each week we feature a local outstanding high school student in our community. We introduce you to our “Academic All-Star” Andrew Thompson.

Andrew Thompson is a 4.0 student and senior at Clarkston High School.

"Not only do I try my hardest in school, but it's for myself and I don't do it for anybody else," said Thompson.

But his stellar performance isn’t just in the classroom.

"I'm the vice president of the exec board, vice president of the theater program,” said Thompson. “I'm a DECA officer, and I've been in every show in my high school career except for one."

Andrew says he’d love to pursue a career in acting and film making, but on the other hand.….

"I've been thinking about going to LCSC to study pre-med,” said Thompson, “I would like to go on probably to WSU for the medical program.”

His inspiration came after his grandfather became sick.

"It made me think start thinking about what I could be doing to help people who are sick," said Thompson.

Congratulations Andrew Thompson, you’re this week’s “Academic All-Star.”
