“Academic All-Star” Jackie Uhling named one of the top high school scholars in Idaho
LEWISTON, ID —
KLEW cares about you, that’s why every week we feature a local student excelling in and out of the classroom.
KLEW News Anchor Suzette Reynoso introduces us to this week’s “Academic All-Star” who comes to us from Lewiston High School.
This Lewiston High School Bengal has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her high school career. She has been named one of the top high school scholars in the entire state of Idaho.
"I was really happy because it shows that all my hard work has been paying off,” said Uhling.
But what’s even more impressive, is what 17-year-old Jackie Uhling does when she’s not in the classroom.
"I worked at a different orphanage that had a lot of little kids,” said Uhling.
Uhling spends her free time volunteering at local animal shelters and the Boys and Girls Club. Most recently, she spent her summer in Tijuana, Mexico helping children at an orphanage.
"We dug the hole for the plumbing and then we built shelves so they would organize their clothes,” said Uhling.
After graduation, Uhling plans to continue her studies at the University of Idaho. This future Vandal wants to major in electrical engineering.
Congratulations Jackie Uhling! You’re this week’s “Academic All-Star.”
