“Academic All-Star” Zach Allen encourages his peers to exercise their right to vote
LEWISTON, ID —
KLEW cares about you and that’s why every week throughout the school year we feature an outstanding high school senior in the area.
This week’s “Academic All-Star” comes to us from Lewiston High School.
This 18-year-old Lewiston High School senior has a focused goal to become the President of the United States.
"I like the idea of being able to put in legislation that will make a difference in people's lives and possibly improve the country," said Zach Allen.
Zach Allen is a 4.0 student. Since the ninth grade, Allen has volunteered for the local democratic party.
"I go out, I go door to door, I call people,” said Allen. “I help set up events, just whatever they want me to do I try to do if I can."
Allen is also an intern for the Idaho Voting Project, encouraging his peers to exercise their right to vote.
"If people don't like how elections are going right now. it's because the right people aren't getting chosen,
and people get chosen based off who we pick,” said Allen. “The people are the power in the government."
Allen is also a varsity tennis player, member of the Business Professionals of America Club, and has applied to his dream college where he plans to study law and politics.
"I want to go to Harvard, that's my biggest school," said Allen.
Congratulations Zach Allen… You’re this week’s “Academic All-Star.”
