Difficult math is like a puzzle for “Academic All-Star” Faith Purcell
LEWISTON, ID —
KLEW cares about you, that’s why every week we feature a local student who is going above and beyond in and out of the classroom.
KLEW News Reporter Kaila Lafferty introduces us to senior Faith Purcell from Lewiston High School.
Faith Purcell is a senior at Lewiston High School. She’s part of poetry club and national honor society.
“I’m a part of national honor society which has been really fun,” said Purcell.
She maintains a 3.8 GPA and her favorite subject in school is math.
"I'm in probability and statistics right now, it's a hard class but I enjoy math,” said Purcell. “It’s like, it’s difficult but I enjoy it. It's like a puzzle."
But where Faith mostly enjoys spending her time is with her church.
"Church every Sunday, youth group every Wednesday night, but like I really enjoy it,” said Purcell. “It's the people there that really make it fun."
Through her involvement with her church, she spends a lot of time serving her community, especially helping the homeless.
"And just seeing them and realizing just how fortunate you are, It's really cool to get the opportunity to get out there and help people,” said Purcell.
And as for the future…..
"I'm gonna go to NNU, Northwest Nazarene up in Nampa,” said Purcell. “I don't know what I'm gonna do yet. I'm undecided."
Congratulations Faith Purcell, you’re this week’s “Academic All-Star.”
