Genesee Valedictorian earns Academic All-Star honors
GENESEE, ID —
Every Thursday during the academic school year we feature an outstanding high school senior who excels in and out of the classroom. But now with the school year coming to an end, here’s our final Academic All-Star for 2017-2018.
Brianna Murray graduates Saturday June 2 from Genesee High School. On that day one of her childhood dreams will come true.
“Specifically, I remember one time in seventh grade we had one of the past graduates come in and ask us what we wanted to be when we grew up and I specifically remember writing valedictorian on the piece of paper and turning it in,” said Murray.
She’s maintained a f.0 GPA, played basketball, was a member of Idaho Drug Free Youth, and FFA Vice President.
"I've been to state all four years and participated in parliamentary procedure for three of those and been to nationals twice,” said Murray.
As she looks back... she’s also looking ahead to give back.
"There's a lot of elementary teachers on the other side of the building that had a really big impact on me and through FFA and stuff like that I kinda decided that I really liked working with people and I wanted a way to give back to the community."
Congratulations Brianna. You’re this week’s Academic All-Star. Keep shooting for your dreams.
