New Portland-based reality TV show delves into sneaker design
PORTLAND, Ore. —
You wear them every day, but would you watch a reality TV show about shoes?
The show, called "Lace Up" is being featured on YouTube Red.
KATU attended a premiere party Wednesday night at the Pensole Footwear Design Academy in Northwest Portland, where the show was filmed.
It delves into the competitive world of sneaker design. It will feature some big names from the industry and “sneakerheads” like the Blazers' Damian Lillard and actor Anthony Anderson.
“There’s tons to learn about sneakers,” said Herbert Smith, marketing designer for Pensole Academy. “For that storytelling piece that allows someone to connect so intimately with a product, it takes a lot to design and craft something that speaks volumes to people.”
“Lace Up” is an eight-episode series.
