100 volunteers needed for decontamination exercise

LEWISTON, ID - A first of its kind drill is fast approaching and the Lewiston Fire Department invites you to participate.

On June 4th the Lewiston Fire Department will hold the largest decontamination exercise the city has ever seen. The question they're looking to answer is how long will it take to decontaminate 100 people, which is why they need your help.

"We're looking for volunteers, we need 100-people that are willing to come in and be decontaminated," said Lewiston Interim Fire Chief, Travis Myklebust. "Come in a t-shirt or shorts something you can get wet, but it's truly giving back to our department and the community on knowing that we need to be able to be proactive."

The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to noon. It's at the fairgrounds on June 4th with a free lunch being provided to all the volunteers. If you're interested in volunteering you can call 743-3554 or stop by the office at 1245 Idaho Street in Lewiston. Interim Chief Travis Myklebust encourages everyone to sign up before the 27th of this month.
