5th Annual Dump Hunger food drive needs your donation

LEWISTON, ID - KLEW news cares about you, so that's why we want to remind everyone about the the 5th annual "Dump Hunger" food drive that has only a few days left.

Dump Hunger donations have been steady, the need for more food remains high. Western States Cat, Wells Fargo and Albertsons have joined together to raise food and money for local food banks. Gathering 375-thousand pounds of food is this year's goal.

"Donations really decrease in the month of January after the holidays and so we have a great need here at the food bank for all of our food insecure individuals," said Lewiston Food Bank Manager Cari Anderson.

"Western States is committed to helping out the communities we live in and serve," said Western States Cat employee Chris Cay. "One way to do that is by helping out local food banks."

Its not to late to help out, the last day to reach the goal is this Friday. So far a little over 229-thousand pounds of food has been raised, so still a ways to go.
