AARP offers tax preparation for low to moderate income earners

MOSCOW, ID - Tax season is upon us and the AARP Foundation is providing free, individualized tax preparation for low-to-moderate income taxpayers, especially for those over 60.

There are three locations in the Quad-Cities area that are offering the walk-in service, the Lewiston Center Mall, the Asotin County Library in Clarkston, and the 1912 Center in Moscow.

Tax-Aide Coordinator Randy Baukol said that on average, tax returns take about an hour, and it's important to remember all the needed documentation.

"Photo ID, and a social security card, and then all of their documentation regarding their income, and their expenses, as well as, it's a very good idea to bring last year's tax return," said Baukol.

The tax aide will continue until April15th, but all three locations offer it at different times. They said that the Tax-Aide is a popular service, so you should show up early or be prepared to wait in line.
