Allegations of voter fraud in Winchester election not found true

WINCHESTER, ID - A lengthy investigation into voter fraud that divided the town of Winchester, has turned up clean.

The Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney said they will not pursue criminal charges following a investigation into allegations of voter fraud. There were claims that a worker at a residential care facility influenced voters before heading to the polls for the Winchester City Council election in November of 2013.

The investigation found that no residents were paid for their votes, nor coerced into voting. The Nez Perce County Sheriffs Office also assisted in the Lewis County case.
