Annual Nativities Around The World display in Moscow

MOSCOW, ID - A Moscow church is currently displaying more than 400 nativity scenes, and they're inviting everyone to join them in getting into the Christmas spirit.

Wednesday night the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints opened their annual Nativities Around the World display, and the event is free and open to the public. The nativities are set up in the church's gymnasium and it took about 200 volunteers to put it all together.

"It's a wonderful opportunity for so many people who believe in Christ and want to put Christ back into Christmas to have an opportunity to come and to share this experience," said Nativities Around the World Director Steve Pennington.

This event started about five years ago when a couple of members of the church decided to bring in their nativities to share with the rest of the congregation. As word spread, more and more people brought in their own nativities and it grew into a community wide event.

Families can even dress up and get their picture taken in a life-size nativity scene. The display is open Friday night from 6:00 until 9:00, and over the weekend from noon to 9:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Moscow.
