AT&T announces mobile broadband expansion in the LC Valley

LEWISTON, ID - 4G LTE mobile broadband from AT&T wireless will be in the LC Valley by the end of this year.

AT&T made the big announcement Wednesday that it plans to expand its broadband service area to include the Lewiston area by the end of 2013. AT&T officials said that the LTE technology delivers speeds ten times faster than their 3G counterparts.

"So what that means is that if you stream videos, download documents or if you upload photos to Facebook all of those activities require data," said AT&T Corporate Communications Andy Colley. "And now with LTE they'll be much faster."

AT&T's broadband technology currently covers more than 225 million people, however coverage is expected to expand to nearly 270 million by the end of this year.
