According to Moscow Police Chief David Duke, 55-five-year-old Dennis McLean was approached by an unidentified woman Sunday night who was looking for help training and certifying her service dog.
According to police, McLean offered to measure her animal for a service vest in the back bedroom of his trailer when he assaulted her.
The woman was able to break free from McLean after several minutes of struggle which later continued outside the home.
Police made a forced entry into the trailer shortly after 3 a.m. and took McLean into custody.
He was transported to the Latah County Jail and then later transferred to Nez Perce County Jail for his safety due to his previous criminal history.
