Nez Perce Tribal Police Chief Dave Rogers said some people were looking for car parts off Woodland Road in Kamiah. They noticed a van about 180-yards down the canyon off the road. It seemed to be newer than the old junkers they were looking at in the area so they contacted police.
"We did take a cadaver dog in just in case because we did not know what we were going to find and weren't exactly sure what we were looking for," said Police Chief Rogers. "In the course of approaching the van one of our officers discovered a body. The body was decomposed to the point where it was unrecognizable."
Rogers said the body was removed on Sunday and taken to Boise for an autopsy. Because of the unusual circumstances surrounding E.J. Farris disappearance two weeks ago, detectives are suspicious of foul play but aren't ruling out an accident. Autopsy results are expected back on Tuesday.
