Benefit concert at Pioneer Park to help the fight against cancer Saturday night

LEWISTON, ID - One Lewiston woman is working to raise money for cancer research.

Brenda Wittman is getting things ready for a benefit concert she's putting on at Pioneer Park on Saturday.

Wittman said she's run into too many people who either have cancer or know someone who does. She said she wants to do her part in helping people fight the disease.

There will be a beer garden, prizes and plenty of food. She said it's a festival style event and everyone's invited.

"We're trying to bring a little more joy to their lives and as the Relay for Life theme goes, we're celebrating more birthdays," said Wittman. "So,coming out to support an event and being able to dedicate more money to this research is huge."

All the money raised from ticket sales and a portion of the proceeds from everything else will go to the American Cancer Society.

Gates open at 5:30 Saturday evening and the concert starts at 7:00. $8.00 will get you in to the event, but $20 will get you a VIP pass. which gives you access to the beer garden, backstage and someone to deliver your food.
