Booths and activities draw record attendance at Officer Newbill Kids Safety Fair

MOSCOW, ID - An estimated 800 kids learned a thing or two about safety over the weekend at the tenth annual Officer Newbill Kids Safety Fair.

According to event organizers, a record number of kids and parents attended the fair. The Moscow Volunteer Fire Department brought their fire prevention trailer, and their mascot, Sparky. A couple kids won a bike, and about 60 car-seats were inspected. Those that didn't pass the inspection were replaced with new ones.

The fair is named after Moscow Police Officer Lee Newbill, an advocate for child safety who was killed in the line of duty in 2007.
