Chmelik tosses hat in ring for run against Lt. Governor Brad Little

COTTONWOOD, ID - A local county commissioner and a longtime Cottonwood resident is throwing in his hat for a seat in the capitol.

Current Idaho County Commissioner, Jim Chmelik said he's running for Lieutenant Governor for Idaho this year. Chmelik is a republican who's focus is on transfer of public lands from the federal government back to the states. If elected his goal is to lower regulations, lower taxes...specifically personal income tax...and look at utilizing natural resources for jobs like the timber industry.

"We need to take back control from the federal government," said Chmelik. "That's probably the number one reason. And I take a look across the board I look at healthcare, I look at common core. I oppose these things adamantly."

Chmelik is an incumbent commissioner for Idaho County. He's facing off against current Lieutenant Governor Brad Little.
