City of Lewiston pools have height requirements for kids that are dropped off

LEWISOTN, ID - The hot days of summer are here to stay, which means the Lewiston pools have been packed with kids and adults of all ages.

However there's something you need to be aware of if you plan to drop your child off this summer.

Attendance at both Orchards and Bert Lips Pools has been booming according to Director Tim Barker. With the recent influx of kids, pool safety is on the forefront for the city of Lewiston, and parents need to know that children cannot be dropped off at both facilities if certain requirements are not met.

"A child to be dropped off and to go into the pool on their own must be 44-inches tall, and we do have markers at the front of both of the pools," said Lewiston Parks and Recreation Director Barker. "So then kids can get measured there and they can know if they meet the height requirement or not."

If a child does not meet that requirement they must be accompanied by someone 16 or older. It costs a dollar-fifty to get into either pool Monday through Friday, and then on Saturdays it's free.
