The city got several complaints of dirty water in the northeast section of the city Sunday night. Maintenance & Operations Superintendent, Art Garro said the water's been tested and it's safe to drink.
The chlorine dosage has been temporarily increased and additional water quality testing is being conducted as a precautionary measure.
Garro said the switch failure caused the reservoir to drain completely Sunday night, allowing naturally occurring sediment from the bottom of the tank into the system.
The Washington State Department of Health has been notified and the city is investigating the failure to avoid future problems.
