Clarkston Man Awaits Verdict From Judge in Attempted Rape Case

ASOTIN, WA -- The fate of a Clarkston man charged with attempted rape is being decided by Judge Scott Gallina.

Lynn Jackson is accused of trying to rape a 13-year old girl and then giving her a pistol and telling her to shoot him.

The mother of the 13-year old testified Tuesday morning that Jackson had inappropriately touched the girl several times before the attempted rape.

"Now, looking back, I believe he did do things right in front of me and my daughter said something and I blew it off because I didn't think he was that kind of person," said the mother, who we are not identifying for privacy reasons.

Jackson decided to let the judge decide whether he's guilty or innocent instead of a jury.

Judge Scott Gallina is expected to announce his decision Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

KLEW News will have that decision at 5 and 6 Wednesday evening.
