Asotin County Rule Nine Intern Mackenzie Amen said Winker will have the opportunity to defend herself and Kilo in front of a judge next week.
"There's previous reports on this dog, that it has been involved with other instances involving people and other neighborhood dogs," said Amen. "It's a misdemeanor, so she's facing 90-days in jail and a $1,000 fine."
Amen said the prosecutor's office took a 2009 incident into consideration, in which Kilo attacked neighboring dogs. Kilo was shot twice in the leg, after charging and snarling at the officer, resulting in a leg amputation.
