Clarkston police submit grant application for additional security cameras in city

CLARKSTON, WA - Leaders from the city of Clarkston are waiting to hear about a grant they could get to help pay for additional security cameras in the city.

Staff from the Port of Clarkston helped city leaders with the application and Port Auditor Jennifer Bly said leaders from the police department were so impressed with their security system that they'd like to expand it to some of the major intersections in the city. Bly said one of the spots they're interested in is the intersection of 13th and Bridge Streets.

Leaders from the police station submitted their application in May, requesting more than $16,000. The port also submitted an application asking for close to $18,000. Both will find out if they've been approved in September.
