Clarkston School District Food Service Program

CLARKSTON, WA - Now that school is officially out for both the Clarkston School District and the Lewiston School District kids are out and about ready to revel in the sunshine.

But just because the school year is over, doesn't mean the Food Services Program and the Clarkston School District stops working. For kids of all ages up to 18 years of age, free lunches are provided Monday through Friday until August. Food Service Manager Amy Kimberling for the Clarkston School District said there are several serving sites in the area that are open starting next Monday.

"To be able to fill that need, that gap for the kids, who don't get the nutrition that they need during the summer," said Kimberling. "You see the kids faces and they look forward to the lunches."

There's no qualifications for the program, and Kimberling encourages you to share the information so more people are aware of the food program. Last year they served almost 20,000 lunches to area kids.
