Clarkston waste water treatment plant received a prestigious award

CLARKSTON, WA - The Washington Department of Ecology (DOE) tips their hat off to the city of Clarkston.

At the Clarkston City Council meeting earlier this evening, the waste water treatment plant in Clarkston received a prestigious award. The DOE measures how many pollutants leave plants across the state, and Clarkston never had any pollutant levels over the state limits last year.

"Thank you for protecting and keeping Washington's waters clean from the Department of Ecology," said DOE Representative Pat McGuire.

McGuire said the DOE monitors almost 400 plants across the state. Of the 13 counties in our region, only seven plants are receiving the same award this year.
