Colors of Hope 5K fundraiser will be a colorful event

MOSCOW, ID - This weekend Gritman Medical Center is holding their first of what they hope will be an annual 5K run, and there's still time to sign up.

The Colors of Hope 5K event will raise money for the Light a Candle Foundation, and all of the profits go directly to helping local cancer patients. Participants can run or walk the 5K, and along the way they'll pass through five different color stations that represent different cancers.

"You're going to run through each station and get tossed with a cornstarch based, dyed color, and at the end you're going to be a mess, and colorful, and have lots of fun." said Light a Candle Foundation co-founder Becky Chavez.

The run will start at nine on Saturday morning in the Old Tidyman's parking lot off the Troy Highway in Moscow. You can register ahead of time at the Latah County Fair either Thursday or Friday night. If you sign up ahead of time, the fee is only $20, but you can also sign up the morning of the event for $25.
