Commissioners approve new video systems installed in LPD patrol cars

LEWISTON, ID - Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office patrol cars will soon be equipped with the latest technology.

Commissioners unanimously passed a resolution Monday to install six WatchGuard video systems in two weeks. The systems cost more than $31,000 and are being paid for by funds from a Homeland Security Grant.

The Vision Hawks, sad to say, the company is no longer in business and so we're having to maintain two different servers and so were just trying to phase those out and go with the full WatchGuard system," said Chief Deputy Scot Gleason.

The Sheriff's Office leaders hope to buy a similar system for their patrol boat as well.
