Runners and walkers alike threw on their fantastic costumes and participated in the Super Hero Fun Run on Saturday. The fundraiser, which was put on by first-year nursing students at Walla Walla Community College, was held in honor of three-year-old Layton Tannahill a local boy diagnosed with cancer.
He is being treated in Spokane and, like many young kids his age, loves super heroes, and the community was able to show him plenty of support. Roughly 150 participants came out to support Layton, with an additional 40 volunteers helping out in any way they could.
All funds raised went to the Ronald McDonald House of charities in Spokane, a charity dedicated to cancer research. In the end, a total of $1,339.75 was raised for the cause! Thanks, everyone!
