Cottonwood Correctional Institute escapees captured near Walla-Walla

COTTONWOOD, ID - Two men are now back behind bars, after they managed to escape from a secure facility in Cottonwood.

Both Caleb Thomas and Ridge Dains were discovered missing early Saturday from the North Idaho Correctional Institution in Cottonwood. After more than 24-hours on the run, Thomas and Dains were captured Monday morning while driving a stolen vehicle near Walla-Walla, Washington.

Thomas and Dains will be extradited to Idaho County where they'll face new charges related to the escape. The Idaho Department of Corrections said they're conducting a thorough review of the events that led up to the escape.
