Decapitated goat head discovered on levy concerns community

CLARKSTON, WA - Asotin County Sheriffs deputies are investigating a disturbing case after the discovery of a decapitated goat by the Snake River.

We want to warn you, for some of our more sensitive viewers this story and images may be considered graphic.

According to investigators, a goat was placed in a dog carrier with its head removed and left on the levy in Clarkston. Captain Dan Hally said this does not point to a satanic ritual but they're not ruling anything out at this time.

"We haven't ruled anything out specifically but there can be all kinds of reasons behind something of this nature," said Hally. "A lot of people jump to different conclusions. But there's no information outside of we found a goat that was killed. But it is a case that causes concern for folks."

We did some research of our own and found that on December 21st, the winter solstice, there's a pagan holiday where the sacrifice of a goat is not uncommon.

If you have information about this, you're urged to call law enforcement immediately.
