Don Brown says goodbye to county work, hello to retirement

ASOTIN COUNTY, WA - As of Monday, 12-year veteran Don Brown, is now a former Asotin County Commissioner.

After years of service, Brown decided it was time to phase into retirement. The commissioner quietly reflected upon his years of service during his final meeting as a commissioner. He said working with community members and Asotin County employees is something he'll miss greatly.

"What I'm feeling today is the end of an era," said Brown. "My life has been involved in Asotin County politics and business for the last 12 years. I'm going to miss that somewhat. Having the ability to work with all the great people that work for Asotin County. But you know there is a beginning and an end. An Alpha and an Omega and I'm at the end."

Brown said he won't completely stop working. He'll continue to work as the director at Merchant Funeral Home.
