Double stabbing in Pullman parking lot sends two to hospital

PULLMAN, WA - No arrests have been made following a double stabbing incident at an apartment complex parking lot in Pullman over the weekend.

Two people were taken to Pullman Regional Hospital as a result of wounds from a fight in the parking lot of the Campus Commons apartments early Sunday morning. According to Pullman Police Commander Chris Tennant, roughly 20 people ran away from the parking lot of the apartment complex on Northeast Terre View Drive when police arrived on scene. Police found two men in their early twenties who had been fighting.

"Cooperation is somewhat fleeting at this point, due to some of the participants, and we're trying to sort it all out," said Tennant. "Some of the stories we had doesn't necessarily match up with the physical evidence that we have."

Police only found a basic pocket knife that was used in the fight. The fight apparently broke out after a few people were kicked out of parties in the area and it's believed alcohol was involved.

One man, who was stabbed in the buttox, is a student at Washington State University. He was treated and released. The other man is still being treated for a collapsed lung, but his condition isn't life-threatening. Police believe he's a student at Eastern Washington University.
