DownEast Basics show how casual summer wear can be dressed up or down

MOSCOW, ID - Wednesday we went to DownEast in Moscow and covered the semi-formal trends for this summer and today (Thursday) we visit them again for the trends in casual wear.

This summer, there isn't a whole lot of difference between trendy casual wear and trendy formal wear. It's all about how you layer, and accessorize.

Open weave cardigans go well over almost anything without dressing it up too much, and they keep you cool.

Also, statement necklaces are a great way to add some pizzazz to a simple everyday outfit, like a plain sundress, or a t-shirt and Bermuda shorts.

Flowy short sleeves paired with a tank and skirt make for a comfortable airy outfit, and again, maxi's are the 'it' piece to own.

"Maxi's are great because you can either dress them up or down," said DownEast Manager Ciara Riggs. "It really depends on what you pair with it. So, you can do a more simple look with just a basic top, kind of like what I am wearing and then like a cardigan or denim cover up dresses a maxi down."

When it comes to footwear, Riggs said strappy sandals are a fashionable must this season.
