Downtown Lewiston Summer Festivities

LEWISTON, ID - Saturday the city of Lewiston will come alive, as major events kick off throughout the day.

Saturday is a really exciting day for downtown Lewiston.

Preparations are being made for a series of events that are planned to take place in Downtown Lewiston on Saturday.

"There's really something going on all day tomorrow," said Beautiful Downtown Lewiston Executive Director Breanne Durham. "And we really encourage people to come early and shop downtown."

The grand opening of the brand new Lewiston City Library at 411 D Street is one of many things to look forward to.

"It's been a long time coming and there's a lot of people really excited for this new facility," said Durham.

Durham said Saturday will also be when they kick off a new concert series called "Sound Downtown."

"It's a weekly summer concert series," said Durham. "All local artist, really high quality local artists. It's going to be here in Brackenbury Square every Saturday.

And the fun doesn't stop there, Saturday marks the start of another season of the Lewiston Farmers Market.

"We'll probably have a lot of arts and crafts and were expecting a few more produce vendors as well," said Durham.

The Lewiston City Library will open there doors to the public at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
