Elderly woman on snowmobile dies after colliding with fuel tank

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) - Franklin County authorities say a 77-year-old woman has died from injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident.

An accident report says Karla Cattani was operating a snowmobile near her home Sunday afternoon. The report says she collided with an overhead fuel tank, which fell on top of her.

Sheriff Dave Fryar tells the Idaho State Journal an officer arrived at the scene of the crash in the Banida area north of Preston to find Cattani already in an ambulance headed for a hospital.

The sheriff says a relative told the officer when he arrived at the hospital that Cattani had died from her injuries.
