EMS Task Force discusses issues facing departments

CLARKSTON, WA - The EMS Task Force, comprised of local ambulance providers in the Valley, held another meeting Wednesday night to talk about issues facing the departments.

Representatives from all facets of local governments and agencies brain-stormed the what-if's regarding the dispatch systems that currently serve their own jurisdictions. The possibility of mutual aid was a topic that re-surfaced several times throughout the meeting.

Several years ago, Clarkston and Lewiston EMS services broke their mutual aid contracts, essentially severing the joint cooperation between the two. Chairman of the Regional EMS Task Force, Lewiston City Councilor Denis Ohrtman, will compile the list of what-if's that the team came up with. Then the team will discuss those possibilities after August.
