The City of Lewiston just received a grant to help officials evaluate our drinking water system. The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality made the announcement today.

The Drinking Water Planning Grant is in the amount of $45,000. City of Lewiston officials say the grant will help fund the city’s water master plan, which still needs to be finished and approved by council before it is put into play. That timeline is at least two years away.

The purpose of the drinking water planning study is to evaluate the water system’s deficiencies and identify necessary improvements. The total eligible cost of the project is $90,000. The remaining $45,000 will be funded by the City of Lewiston.
