The four-day festival is primarily an Inland Northwest event, but people travel from all over the country and even Canada to attend. This is the 46th year that the U of I has held this festival, and they are looking forward to an exciting line-up.
"We've got Maceo Parker, Regina Carter, some fabulous entertainment, and of course all of the workshops and clinics that the students come here to take part in," said Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival Executive Director Steven Remington.
This festival is unique because its main focus is educating students about jazz. More than 150 schools attend from around the northwest. This year, the festival will be from February 20th through the 23rd. Go to uidaho.edu/jazzfest for an artist lineup and ticket prices.
