FedEx Distribution Center Coming to Lewiston

LEWISTON, ID - The Lewiston Port Commission approved the sale of seven acres of industrial park land for a FedEx Ground package distribution center.

Port of Lewiston General Manager Dave Doeringsfeld said Westmoreland Company is in the process of purchasing the land from the Port of Lewiston for $731,000 and will then lease the land to FedEx Ground. Doeringsfeld said the new facility will employ 12 people, although some of those positions could be filled by pre-existing employees.

"It'll be another new facility coming to Lewiston. It'll be a state of the art distribution facility, kind of creates the Valley here as a hub," said Doeringsfeld.

The seven acres of property, overlooks the Valley and sits right next to the Nez Perce County Jail. He said the sale should be finalized sometime next week.
