Feed The Idaho Food Bank this Holiday Season
LEWISTON, ID —
The holiday season is fast approaching, and for some that means added stress to put food on the table. But the Idaho Food Bank is hoping to lift that burden on families here in our community.
Last year they opened their doors to the brand new facility in the orchards, and with a much higher capacity for donations. the community joined together for a food drive called... Feed the Idaho Food Bank.
This brought in over $13,000 and more than 12,000 pounds of food, and now it's in full swing this year. "We can't do it without the support of the community. We are an extension of the community's will to feed the less fortunate in the area and this community absolutely has the will to take care of its friends and neighbors,” said branch manager Chico McKinney.
The food drive is in partnership with several local businesses, including Hot Shots, Vista Outdoors, P1FCU and many others. It ends (Tuesday) today, but you can still make donations at participating businesses or at the food bank itself. They are looking for non-perishable food items, or monetary donations.
