Fire to burn mountain lion lair rekindles
REXBURG, Idaho (AP) - A controlled fire near a southeast Idaho town intended to burn away brush where a mountain lion had been lurking caused problems when the fire rekindled following a shift in the wind.
The Standard Journal reports the fire in a vacant area in a Rexburg subdivision started up again Wednesday.
Madison Assistant Fire Chief David Davis says the fire was about two days old when it started again. Firefighters extinguished it in about 30 minutes.
Area resident Jessica Mortensen says she's relieved the mountain lion won't be sleeping near where there are a lot of kids around.
