Franklin Elementary School enrollment increases with classroom additions

PULLMAN, WA - The final touches are being made on the expansion to Franklin Elementary in Pullman.

The construction of adding on six classrooms started last year. Voters approved a $55-million bond for rebuilding Pullman schools and Franklin Elementary School was awarded $2-million of that.

The additional classrooms will allow for smaller class sizes and help with overcrowding in all Pullman elementaries.

"I'm very grateful to the community of Pullman, the support of the facilities," said Franklin Elementary principal, Bill Holman. "We desperately needed more classroom space and we are filling it right up and rapidly."

There are still a few things around the school that need to be completed but Holman said they will be ready and the staff is excited for students to return on t he 27th.
