Frozen turkeys are needed for Idaho Food Bank Turkey Drive

LEWISTON, ID - Tis the season to give and Idaho Food Bank needs the public's help to hit the generous goal of giving out 15,000 turkeys this year.

According to Idaho Food Bank Branch Manager, Cari Miller so far only three turkeys have been donated, however there's still plenty of time to give. Les Schwab stores in Lewiston and surrounding regions are helping in the effort by accepting frozen turkeys and non-perishable food items.

"Right now when anyone wants to have their tires sipped, if they bring in a turkey or some can food, we credit them back one sipe that's gonna be a $15 value to them, for helping out the Idaho food Bank," said Les Schwab Manager, Brian Peterson.

"Turkeys are expensive for those families, and so those people that can give that nice holiday meal to another family," said Miller. "It's very much appreciated."

Miller said food insecurity becomes greater around the holiday times. Here's a look at some other opportunities to help out the Idaho Food Bank.
