Habitat for Humanity 'Blitz Build' complete house #31

CLARKSTON, WA - A Clarkston woman and her daughter are moving into their new home that was built by hundreds of people in the community.

Habitat for Humanity has been building homes in the Valley for more than 25-years. They offer affordable housing for families in need. One lucky family is moving into their new home after helping build it over the last six months.

Brenda Moen and her daughter Bre said they're excited about their new home.

"It's not a hand-out, it's a hand-up," said Habitat Executive Director, Rich Goodwin. "That way, these folks can get a brand new start, and it'll mean a lot to them to have their own home."

More then 200 people from around the Valley volunteered to help build Moen's new home. It's Habitat's 31st house in the Valley.

Goodwin said they don't have another build scheduled yet, but they hope to start up again soon.
