Health Care Insurance extension deadline is December 23rd

LEWISTON, ID - Despite these security warnings, under the Affordable Care Act, everyone needs to have health insurance and now the deadline to sign-up has been pushed back.

The problems to sign-up on Idaho's Healthcare Exchange along with other state websites, prevented people from getting insurance. Because of that, the federal government is once again pushing back the deadline.

"They're trying to cut some slack for the people looking to purchase insurance but couldn't because of the systems problems," said Dr. Rusche. " But my understanding is that it's much, much better."

The deadline to get coverage on both 'Your-Health-Idaho' and 'Washington-Health-Plan-Finder' is December 23rd. If you don't have insurance and aren't exempt when you file your federal taxes next year, you will be charged with a fine.
