According to Lewiston Interim Fire Chief Travis Myklebust, a high speed pursuit through town ended in the fire department's garage.
Nez Perce County Sheriff's deputies said they tried to pull over Patricia Wilson after she almost struck a patrol vehicle. It then turned into a pursuit. They said Wilson eventually failed to make a turn at 13th and G Streets and crashed into the fire station there, causing damage to two of the three ambulances.
"Because they're stacked up one behind each other, hit the front line ambulance did significant damage to it pushed it into the other ambulance," said Myklebust. And luckily the third one was in a different bay so we were able to use that to transport the patient who was injured in the accident."
"Police had drawn down on the car and so were pretty concerned what to do," said Lewiston Fire Dept. Captain Greg Fry. "So we just waited until the cops did their thing and then we pulled the engine out and started our assessment on the patient like they would any other car accident."
Wilson is still being treated at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center where she's in fair condition.
Idaho State Police are now investigating the crash
