The Hurricane Creek Fire, which is burning four miles southwest of Joseph, Oregon remains at zero-percent containment. However crews are optimistic, as they continue to hold the fire at 120-acres.
"We have 24 people who are up actually working on the fire lines," said Dave Schmitt. "They made good progress yesterday, and they're concentrating the efforts in two areas. One on the west corner of the fire, that's closest to private land and the other focus is a spot fire that is a short ways north."
The rugged terrain is making it difficult to get firefighters close to the blaze. Both helicopters and single engine air tankers are being used.
