Idaho deer and elk hunters will get second tag at discount price

LEWISTON, ID - If you plan on hunting in Idaho this fall, this might interest you.

Anyone who's purchased a deer or elk tag at the regular resident or non-resident price can purchase a second tag for the same species, but for the first time it's being offered at a discounted price.

"Hunters can get a deer at a discounted rate of $199 or an elk tag for $299," said IDFG Regional Conservation Educator, Jen Bruns. "That works out to be slightly more than a $100 savings in comparison to what it's been in previous years for that non-resident and resident second tag fee."

There are more than 10,000 deer tags left and more than 9,000 elk tags. They're first come, first serve at the Idaho Fish and Game Office and any other licensed vendor in the state. You can find more information about second tags here:
